Drop In Class: Ground & Sky Aerial Yoga

This class has been consciously crafted to bridge a traditional ground practice with yoga in the aerial hammock. Utilizing the hammocks as a prop, poses can be made more accessible or more challenging. For example, it can take many years to hold a handstand with proper muscular support, but with the support of a hammock, the benefits of a handstand may be achieved. One of the many advantages of aerial yoga is deep stretching for myofascial release. This practice also offers restorative inversions that increase circulation. It is intended to help develop a long spine, utilizing natural traction with the support of the hammock. Aerial yoga naturally ignites a unique balance within the body, organically increasing core strength while lengthening and stretching the muscles and mind. In this class, we will be taking turns experiencing poses in the hammock and on the ground, so that the lift and alignment found in the air can influence your more traditional practice. A true exploration of gravity on and off the mat!
The class is geared toward all levels; a wonderful fit for students that are new to aerial fabric and for those students that want to practice Yoga using a beautiful apparatus they already love.
