FAQ - Studio Policies

  • Sales / Cancellation Policy

ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Full payment must be made at the time of booking, and are nonrefundable. Any no-shows will forfeit the class fee, and not be able to reschedule.

Rescheduling & Cancelling out of a class requires a minimum of 24 hours notice before the start time of class, either through the scheduling system or by email (if you’re having difficulty using the system).

Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice are not allowed, and will forfeit the lesson fee (group or private). Class cancellations, with more than 24 hours until start time, will be credited to your account automatically for future use in any class. Any lesson that is cancelled within the 24 hours is nonrefundable, and nontransferable.

If a lesson (group or private) is rescheduled with more than 24 hours notice then the lesson can be transferred to a different date in the same class. Lessons cannot be rescheduled within 24hours of the start time.

Group classes that are reschuled in the system require you to rebook with the same class/instructor. If you would like to reschedule into a different class/instructor, please cancel with more than 24hours in advance. A rescheduled private lesson must be booked with the same instructor.

If the studio cancels a class due to low attendance, you will receive a cancellation notice via email and your class will be automatically credited to your account and can be used to schedule a different time.

  • Minimum Attendance Policy

Any class with less than 4 reservations may be cancelled. The cancellation will take place 4-6 hours before class time. If you have a reservation you will be notified by email. Please check your email before driving to class. All changes will be reflected on our scheduling system 4 hours before class begins (meaning you should really sign up in advance!).

*Weekend classes (Sat & Sun) that do not have minimums will be cancelled the night before.

  • Late Attendance / Late Cancellation Policy

Dance, Aerial & Pole are all physically challenging forms of movement & exercise. Due to the high intensity, proper warm ups are critical for students to attend, arriving late also disrupts the flow of other students and the instructor to come late. Please, no late entry more than 5 minutes after class begins.

If you do not attend class, arrive after the 5 minute grace period or cancel within the 24-hour cancellation window, you will lose your purchased session. Please cancel your reservation 24 hours before class begins if you will not attend.
see cancellation policy for more details

  • Class Package Policy

Class Packages are a package where you receive a discounted class rate in exchange for a 3 month commitment to a specific number of classes. At the end of the 3 month period, which starts at the time of purchase, any unused classes from a package will be added to our Community Scholarship Fund.
All Sales are Final and nontransferable. Please make sure to register for an account after you purchase!

One parent and under-14yo children in the same household are permitted to use the same class package when booking classes.

  • Behavior Policy

Circus Sanctuary aims to foster a welcoming, inclusive and respectful environment to all participants. We do not tolerate bullying, disrespectful behavior or violation of others’ personal space. Such behavior will result in being removed from the studio, and no longer being able to attend classes at Circus Sanctuary.
Please respect your instructors and fellow students and leave your phone conversations outside the studio. This applies to text messaging and emailing as well. No street shoes permitted in our studio rooms.

  • Attire Policy

Please wear proper attire when visiting our studio. Proper attire can be found below for specific classes. No transparent material that shows ‘any bits’ is allowed. No undergarments are allowed to be used in place of workout attire.

  • Mask Policy

Masks are optional at this time. We reserve the right to change this policy according to our local numbers and risk assessment. If you are immunocompromised and are concerned about working in a group class setting with unmasked participants, private lessons may be a better fit for you. FAQ - Common Questions

  • Are you accessible?

We aim to be. We have handicapped parking right in front of the space. We have ADA compliant bathrooms and have clear pathways for wheelchairs and other mobility devices. We strive to be accessible to all people that have the desire to do circus. Many of our instructors are already skilled in working with and modifying for physical limitations and/or neurodivergence. We have instructors that are fluent in sign language. Please reach out if you have specific needs and we will do our best to meet them!

  • What ages do you teach?

We teach all ages. We offer kids classes for ages 7-9 & 10-13. All adult classes are open to ages 14 and up. For students under the age of 18 we require consent from a parent or guardian. For our pole classes we also require consent from our instructors since not all pole classes are suitable for teens. For children under 7 we suggest private lessons. We can even do them as parent/tot classes if desired!

  • I'm interested in Booking A Private Lesson, how does that work?

Prices and availability will vary between instructors since each instructor sets their own prices and is in charge of their own availability calendar. We offer both aerial and pole rentals throughout the week, and you can book this directly through our scheduling system! You can also book directly under CLASSES in the drop down menu.

  • I can't login, how do I reschedule/cancel?

Start with the confirmation email you would've received directly after you booked into the class. Then click the CHANGE/CANCEL APPOINTMENT button.

Once you're directed to a new page, first make sure you have an account (if you do not, there will be a button to REGISTER FOR ACCOUNT right below the class information). We recommend logging in first, though this is not required (login button in top right corner of page, very small). You should be able to reschedule your class using the directions on the site.

  • Do I have to be Strong/Flexible or have a dance background?

No, and by doing circus arts you will become strong and flexible. No background in dance or aerial is required to take a class. We recommend starting with Beginner/Intermediate classes if you are new to Pole, Lyra, Trapeze or Silks. We will work with you at your level and help you get where you want to go.
Our teachers are trained to make even the hardest things accessible, by breaking them down into appropriate progressions. Our job is to help you build strength and body awareness. This will progress over time as you continue taking class. With the guidance of your instructor, you can determine when you’re ready to move up to the next level.
Every body, every age, every ability, every level is welcome.

  • What should I wear for aerial classes?

Wear something you can move in. Form fitting clothes tend to get in the way less and don't cause issues when going upside down. For all aerial lessons, wear leggings that cover the backs of your knees. This will help avoiding burns caused by friction from the fabric or hoop.

And for Low Flow: Aerial classes, we encourage knee pads, longs pants, and a long sleeve shirt.

Don't stress on it too much, your instructor can help you figure it out.
We don't allow rings, bracelets or shoes on the foam floor.
Lotion and body oils will make you slip off the apparatus. Avoid lotions for 24 hours before aerial class.

  • What should I wear for pole classes?

For all pole lessons keep in mind that skin helps you stick to the pole. Bring layers to class leggings, t-shirt, sports bra, and short shorts and kneepads! Our more advanced levels will require fitted shorts and sports bra to allow for greater skin exposure to help grip the pole. No transparent material is allowed. No undergarments are allowed to be used in place of workout attire.

And for Low Flow: Pole classes, we encourage knee pads, loose longs pants, and a long sleeve shirt over your regular pole attire.

Come to your first few classes barefoot or is dance heels! Don't stress on it too much, your instructor can help you figure it out.
